Role Overview
The Retail Operations Manager (Process Leader) shares responsibility for driving store performance through merchandising, inventory, pet care, and team leadership. You'll uphold PetSmart's vision while managing financial outcomes, safety, and an exceptional store experience in a fast-paced retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, coach, and develop associates; manage labor, onboarding, and performance reviews; delegate tasks and ensure pet safety training.
- Store Operations: Oversee pet care for habitats (birds, reptiles, fish); execute inventory processes, planograms, and BOPIS/SFS programs; maintain merchandising and vendor relations.
- Financial & Safety: Drive sales, control shrink and expenses; analyze reports; ensure compliance, cleanliness, and immediate response to pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail management experience, strong leadership to motivate teams, pet care knowledge, inventory expertise, and analytical skills for P&L optimization. Passion for pets, problem-solving, and commitment to safety are essential.
