Role Overview
The Retail Operations Manager (Process Leader) shares responsibility for driving store performance through merchandising, inventory, pet care, and team leadership. Accountable for financial outcomes, safety, and upholding PetSmart's vision, this full-time role ensures a safe, organized store while leading associates to meet business and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Recruit, coach, and develop associates; manage onboarding, reviews, and labor; delegate tasks; communicate priorities; recognize top performers.
Store Operations & Pet Care
Oversight of pet health, habitats, inventory processes, merchandising, BOPIS/SFS programs; maintain standards, vendor relations, and safety; handle openings/closings and customer escalations.
Financial & Expense Management
Drive sales, control shrink and expenses; analyze reports for trends; leverage resources for P&L success.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail leadership experience, pet care knowledge, strong organizational skills, and a passion for team development. Proficiency in inventory systems, financial analysis, and creating engaging store environments is essential. Commitment to PetSmart's values and pet safety is non-negotiable.
