Role Overview
As Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead), share responsibility for operational excellence. Drive merchandising, inventory, pet care, and store leadership while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Act as leader on duty, guiding associates and ensuring a safe, organized store.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Train, mentor, and coach sales associates on product knowledge and standards. Delegate tasks, provide feedback for reviews/promotions, address grievances, and boost engagement.
- Store Operations: Optimize merchandise placement, manage inventory audits/cycle counts, handle POS/cash, and execute opening/closing procedures.
- Pet Care: Maintain cleaning/feeding standards, monitor new arrivals/sick pets, transport to vet if needed, and ensure healthy transitions to sales floor.
- Customer Focus: Support online pickups/ship-from-store and deliver positive pet parent experiences.
Experience & Skills
Require 2+ years retail supervisory experience in customer-focused settings. Full-time flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays essential. Excel in computer use, communication, composure under pressure, organization, and visual merchandising. No direct reports but guide associates and provide performance input.
Physical Demands
Role demands lifting, standing, and pet handling in a dynamic retail environment.
