Role Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead) shares responsibility for driving store performance through merchandising, inventory management, pet care, and associate leadership. This full-time role in Anchorage, Alaska, ensures a safe, organized store while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Act as leader on duty, overseeing operations during openings, closings, and peak times.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
- Train, mentor, and coach associates on product knowledge, merchandise handling, and performance standards.
- Delegate tasks, provide feedback for reviews, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Recognize achievements to boost engagement and resolve associate concerns.
Store Operations & Pet Care
- Optimize sales via merchandise strategies, inventory audits, cycle counts, and promotional setups.
- Maintain pet health standards: cleaning, feeding, quarantine checks, and vet transport for sick pets.
- Handle POS, cash accuracy, online order pickups, and ensure compliance with policies and ethics.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 2+ years retail supervisory experience, full availability including evenings/weekends/holidays, computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational detail-orientation. No direct reports, but guide associates and act as leader when needed. Physical demands include lifting and pet handling in a dynamic retail environment.
