Role Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead) drives operational excellence in our Bakersfield store. This full-time role shares responsibility for merchandising, inventory management, pet care, associate oversight, and maintaining a safe, organized space. Act as leader on duty, ensuring compliance with company vision, policies, and brand promise while delivering exceptional experiences for pets and pet parents.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Support sales associates with training on product knowledge and standards. Facilitate onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and feedback for performance reviews, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Delegate tasks, lead when manager is absent, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements to boost engagement.
Store Operations & Pet Care
Execute merchandise strategies for optimal sales, manage inventory audits and replenishment, operate POS systems, and handle online orders. Maintain store standards, complete cycle counts, and ensure pet health through cleaning, feeding, quarantine protocols, and immediate vet transport for sick pets. Uphold safety and positive experiences at all touchpoints.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 2+ years retail supervisory experience in customer-focused settings. Full-time flexibility required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, composure under pressure, and meticulous organizational skills for visually appealing store layouts essential. No direct reports, but guide associate development and provide performance feedback.
