Role Overview

The Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead) shares responsibility for driving operational excellence while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. This full-time role involves merchandising, inventory management, pet care, store opening/closing, associate oversight, and maintaining a safe, organized environment. Act as leader on duty, ensuring compliance with policies and delivering exceptional pet parent experiences.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership

Support sales associates with training on merchandise handling and product knowledge. Facilitate onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and feedback for performance reviews, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Delegate tasks, lead when manager is absent, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements to boost engagement.

Store Operations & Pet Care

Execute merchandise strategies for optimal sales, manage inventory audits and replenishment, operate POS systems, and handle transactions. Maintain store standards, complete cycle counts, and oversee pet care including cleaning, feeding, health checks, quarantine for new arrivals, and vet transport for sick pets. Support online order pickups and ensure a safe environment for pets and customers.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in customer-focused settings. Full-time availability required with schedule flexibility. Key skills include computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, organizational abilities, and attention to detail for visually appealing store layouts. No direct reports, but guide associate development and provide feedback.
