Role Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead) shares responsibility for driving operational excellence in our Bloomfield Hills, MI store. This full-time role focuses on merchandising, inventory management, pet care, associate leadership, and maintaining a safe, organized store while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Support sales associates with training on product knowledge, delegate tasks, lead when acting as leader on duty, handle grievances, and celebrate achievements to boost engagement.
- Store Operations: Execute merchandise strategies, manage inventory audits and replenishment, operate POS systems, ensure policy compliance, and handle opening/closing procedures.
- Pet Care Excellence: Maintain pet health standards including cleaning, feeding, monitoring sick pets, vet transport, and preparing new arrivals post-quarantine.
- Customer Experience: Support online order pickups, ensure positive pet parent interactions, and uphold brand promise for safety and satisfaction.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in customer-focused settings, full-time flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational skills for visually appealing store layouts. No direct reports, but guide associates and act as leader when needed. Physical demands include working in a pet-filled environment.
