Role Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead) shares responsibility for driving operational excellence while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. You'll manage merchandising, inventory, pet care, store operations, and associate guidance to ensure a safe, organized, and customer-focused store.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Support sales associates with training, onboarding, mentoring, task delegation, and performance feedback. Lead as leader on duty, address grievances, and boost engagement.
- Store Operations: Execute merchandise strategies, manage inventory audits, conduct cycle counts, operate POS systems, and handle online order fulfillment.
- Pet Care Excellence: Maintain pet health standards, care for new arrivals and sick pets, ensure quarantine protocols, and transport to vets when needed.
- Overall Experience: Uphold policies, maintain store standards, and ensure positive experiences for associates and pet parents.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of retail supervisory experience, full-time flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational skills for visually appealing layouts. No direct reports, but you'll guide associates and act as leader when needed. Physical demands include working in a pet-friendly environment.

- Oversee pet care operations including cleaning, feeding, health monitoring, and vet transport as needed
- Operate POS systems, handle cash transactions, and ensure policy compliance
- Facilitate store opening/closing, online order fulfillment, and maintain safe, organized store environment
