Role Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead) shares responsibility for driving operational excellence in our Chester, VA store. This full-time role focuses on merchandising, inventory management, pet care operations, associate leadership, and maintaining a safe, organized environment while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Guide sales associates with training on product knowledge, delegate tasks, lead when on duty, handle complaints, and celebrate engagement.
- Store Operations: Execute merchandise strategies, manage inventory audits and replenishment, operate POS systems, ensure policy compliance, and handle opening/closing procedures.
- Pet Care Excellence: Maintain cleaning/feeding standards, monitor pet health, prepare new arrivals post-quarantine, and transport sick pets to vets as needed.
- Customer Experience: Support online order pickups and ensure positive interactions for pet parents and associates.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 2+ years retail supervisory experience, full-time flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational detail-orientation. No direct reports, but guide associate development and act as leader on duty.

- Oversee store opening/closing, POS operations, and compliance with policies and ethics
- Maintain pet care standards including cleaning, feeding, health monitoring, and vet transport as needed
- Ensure positive experiences for pet parents with in-store services and online order fulfillment
