Role Overview
As Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead), share responsibility for operational excellence. Drive merchandising, inventory, pet care, and store leadership while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Lead associates, maintain safety, and ensure a welcoming store environment with full-time flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Guide sales associates on merchandise handling, product knowledge, and standards. Train, onboard, mentor, coach, and provide feedback for performance, discipline, and promotions. Delegate tasks, lead as leader-on-duty, resolve complaints, and celebrate engagement.
- Store Operations: Optimize sales via product receipt, placement, displays, and promotions. Manage inventory, conduct audits, analyze trends for replenishment. Handle POS, cash, opening/closing, and policy compliance. Perform cycle counts and address discrepancies.
- Pet Care & Customer Experience: Maintain pet health standards—cleaning, feeding, water. Care for new/sick pets, transport to vet if needed, and quarantine arrivals. Support online pickups/ship-from-store for positive pet parent interactions.
Experience & Skills
Require 2+ years retail supervisory experience in customer-focused settings. Full-time availability, computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational detail for visual merchandising. No direct reports but guide associates and act as leader when needed. Physical demands include retail environment tasks.
