Role Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead) drives operational excellence, sharing responsibility for merchandising, inventory, pet care, and store leadership. You'll guide associates, maintain a safe environment, and uphold PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy in a fast-paced retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Train and mentor associates on product knowledge, delegate tasks, provide feedback for performance reviews, and lead as the on-duty supervisor.
- Store Operations: Manage inventory audits, execute sales-optimizing merchandise strategies, handle POS and cash transactions, and ensure compliance with policies.
- Pet Care Excellence: Maintain pet health standards, care for new arrivals and sick pets, prepare for vet visits, and support positive pet parent experiences including online orders.
- Store Experience: Oversee opening/closing, seasonal displays, cycle counts, and foster a visually appealing, organized store.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of retail supervisory experience, full-time flexibility, computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational detail-orientation. No direct reports, but you'll guide associates and act as leader when needed. Physical demands include lifting and a pet-friendly work environment.

- Oversee store opening/closing procedures and ensure policy compliance
- Handle POS transactions, online order fulfillment, and customer experiences
