Role Overview
As Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead), share responsibility for operational excellence. Drive merchandising, inventory, pet care, and associate leadership while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Maintain a safe, organized store and act as leader on duty when needed. No direct reports, but guide associate development and provide performance feedback.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Support sales associates with training on merchandise handling and product knowledge. Facilitate onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and feedback for performance reviews, promotions, and discipline. Delegate tasks, lead when on duty, resolve complaints, and celebrate engagement.
Store Operations & Pet Care
Execute merchandise strategies, manage inventory audits, sales trend analysis, and cycle counts. Operate POS systems, handle cash, and ensure compliance. Oversee opening/closing, pet maintenance (cleaning, feeding, health checks), new arrivals quarantine, and vet transport for sick pets. Support online order pickups for exceptional pet parent experiences.
Experience & Skills
Require 2+ years retail supervisory experience in customer-focused settings. Full-time flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays essential. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational detail for visually appealing stores required. Passion for pets and team leadership a plus.
