Role Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead) shares responsibility for driving operational excellence in our Hickory, NC store. This full-time role oversees merchandising, inventory, pet care, associate guidance, and store safety, upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Act as leader on duty, ensuring a positive experience for associates and pet parents.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
- Train, mentor, and coach associates on product knowledge, handling, and standards.
- Delegate tasks, provide feedback for performance reviews, and address grievances.
- Recognize achievements to boost engagement.
Store Operations & Pet Care
- Manage merchandise placement, inventory audits, sales trends, and online order fulfillment.
- Handle POS transactions, store opening/closing, and compliance with policies.
- Maintain pet health standards: cleaning, feeding, quarantine, and vet transport for sick pets.
Experience & Skills
Requires 2+ years retail supervisory experience, full availability including evenings/weekends/holidays, computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational skills for visually appealing stores. No direct reports but guides associates and provides performance feedback.
