Role Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead) shares responsibility for driving operational excellence while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. This full-time role in Myrtle Grove, NC, focuses on merchandising, inventory management, pet care operations, associate oversight, store opening/closing, and maintaining a safe, organized environment. Act as leader on duty, guiding teams to deliver exceptional pet parent experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Support sales associates with training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, task delegation, and performance feedback. Address complaints, recognize achievements, and lead when managers are absent.
- Store Operations: Execute merchandise strategies, manage inventory levels/audits, handle POS/cash transactions, ensure policy compliance, and complete lifecycle counts.
- Pet Care Excellence: Maintain cleaning/feeding standards, monitor pet health, prepare new arrivals post-quarantine, and transport sick pets to vets as needed.
- Customer Focus: Support online order pickups/ship-from-store and ensure positive experiences for associates and pet parents.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 2+ years retail supervisory experience in customer-focused settings. Must have full-time flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational skills for visually appealing store layouts. No direct reports, but guide associate development and provide feedback.
Physical Demands
Role involves standing, lifting, pet handling in a dynamic retail environment.
