Role Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor drives operational excellence, managing merchandising, inventory, pet care, and team leadership. You'll uphold PetSmart's vision, shared responsibility for store operations, opening/closing, and fostering a safe, organized space. No direct reports, but you'll guide associates and act as leader on duty.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Train associates on product knowledge, delegate tasks, provide feedback, coach for growth, and celebrate achievements to boost engagement.
- Store Operations: Optimize sales through merchandising, manage inventory audits and trends, handle POS transactions, ensure policy compliance, and support online orders.
- Pet Care: Maintain standards for cleaning, feeding, health checks; quarantine new arrivals, report sick pets, and transport to vets as needed.
Experience & Skills
Requires 2+ years retail supervisory experience in customer-focused settings, full-time flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational detail for visual merchandising. Physical demands include retail environment tasks.
