Role Overview
As Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead), drive operational excellence while upholding PetSmart's vision. Share responsibility for merchandising, inventory, pet care, store leadership, and safety. Act as leader on duty, guiding associates and ensuring a premium store experience.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Train and mentor associates on product knowledge, delegate tasks, provide feedback for reviews/promotions, resolve grievances, and boost engagement.
- Store Operations: Manage merchandise placement, inventory audits, sales trend analysis, POS transactions, opening/closing procedures, and policy compliance.
- Pet Care Excellence: Maintain pet health standards, handle new arrivals/quarantine, monitor sick pets, and ensure safe environments for store-owned pets.
- Customer Focus: Support online order pickups, create positive pet parent experiences, and maintain visually appealing store layouts.
Experience & Skills
Require 2+ years retail supervisory experience, full availability (evenings/weekends/holidays), computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational detail-orientation. No direct reports, but guide associates and provide performance input. Physical demands include lifting and pet handling in a dynamic retail setting.

- Oversee pet care operations including cleaning, feeding, health monitoring, and vet transport
- Handle store opening/closing, POS transactions, and ensure policy compliance
- Facilitate positive experiences for pet parents with in-store pickups and online orders
- Act as leader on duty, delegate tasks, and resolve associate concerns
