Role Overview

The Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead) drives operational excellence in our Vancouver store. This full-time role shares responsibility for merchandising, inventory management, pet care operations, associate leadership, and maintaining a safe, organized environment while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership

Support sales associates with training on product knowledge and presentation. Facilitate onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and feedback for performance reviews, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Delegate tasks, lead when on duty, address grievances, and celebrate achievements to boost engagement.

Store Operations & Experience

Execute merchandise strategies for optimal sales, manage inventory audits and trends, operate POS systems, handle cash accurately, and ensure policy compliance. Oversee opening/closing, monthly cycle counts, online order fulfillment, and pet care including cleaning, feeding, health checks, quarantine, and vet transport for sick pets.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 2+ years retail supervisory experience in customer-focused settings, full-time flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational skills for visually appealing store layouts. No direct reports but guide associate development and provide performance feedback.

  • Manage inventory with audits, cycle counts, sales trend analysis, and replenishment recommendations
  • Oversee store opening/closing, POS operations, cash handling, and policy compliance
  • Ensure pet care standards including cleaning, feeding, health monitoring, and vet transport as needed
