Role Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead) drives operational excellence, sharing responsibility for merchandising, inventory, pet care, and store leadership. You'll oversee associates, ensure a safe environment, and uphold PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy in a fast-paced retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Train, mentor, and coach sales associates on product knowledge and standards; delegate tasks; lead as leader on duty; handle grievances and celebrate achievements.
- Store Operations: Optimize merchandising with product placement and displays; manage inventory audits and sales analysis; operate POS systems; execute opening/closing procedures.
- Pet Care Excellence: Maintain pet health standards including cleaning, feeding, and vet transport; prepare new arrivals post-quarantine; ensure safe experiences for pets and customers.
- Customer Focus: Support online pickups and ship-from-store; foster positive pet parent interactions.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in customer-focused settings. Full-time availability required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Key skills include computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and meticulous organization for visually appealing stores. No direct reports, but you'll guide associates and act as leader when needed. Physical demands include standing, lifting, and working in a pet-friendly environment.
