Role Overview

As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Ajax store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live animals, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility across evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hands-on pet interaction and customer engagement at its core.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
• Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), administer vet-directed meds, and respond to health issues.
• Execute merchandising tasks: face/fill products, stage new inventory, handle price changes, and uphold sales floor standards.
• Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness for associates, pets, and customers; assist across all store areas including services.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, lift 50+ lbs (team lift 100+), stand/walk extensively, and handle live animals in a dynamic retail setting with moderate noise and pet hair.
