Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Albemarle, North Carolina, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility across evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to advance in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions, including seamless online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: stage products, face/fill shelves, handle price changes, and maintain cleanliness.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, handle physical demands (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing), and embrace a dynamic environment with live animals, moderate noise, and pet hair. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
