Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction and customer service in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Promote events like adoptions, Treats enrollment, and charity drives.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. Ideal candidates have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, handle animals). Passion for pets is key.
Physical Demands & Environment
Expect standing, walking, lifting, exposure to pet hair, noise, and live animals. Reasonable accommodations available.
