Role Overview
Our full-time Pet Associates drive exceptional pet parent experiences in our Bakersfield, CA store. You'll handle sales, pet care, store maintenance, and safety, embodying our vision of outstanding service in a fun, pet-filled workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding in-person, phone, register, and online customer service.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, cleaning habitats, medicating as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, and support promotions.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to pet health issues promptly.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required for this entry-level role. We seek enthusiastic individuals with strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs. Passion for pets and retail energy are key.
Physical Demands
Expect standing, walking, ladder use, lifting, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise environment with pet hair and occasional wet areas.
