Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Barrie store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live animals, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, variety, and the chance to work with pets while building retail skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to pet parents in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote merchandise, services, events like adoptions.
- Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
- Support all store areas including services as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
