Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Bel Air, Maryland, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and maintain store standards. Share responsibility for pet care, cleanliness, and safety while supporting sales and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes, and maintain sales floor standards.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role welcoming pet lovers. Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Passion for pets and teamwork essential.
