Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) drives exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility across evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding service in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Ensure store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor.
- Sell merchandise, services, and pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Prioritize safety for associates, pets, and customers; handle sick pets and assist store-wide.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet conditions). Flexibility for varied shifts essential.
