Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate in Burnaby, BC, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while caring for store pets and maintaining a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role supports sales, services, and pet health, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, questions, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals: feeding, cleaning, medicating as vet-directed.
- Execute merchandising tasks: stock products, face shelves, handle price changes, and recover sales floor.
- Promote events like adoptions, Treats enrollment, and charity drives; recommend products and services.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive in fast-paced settings, handle 50+ lb lifts, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Physical demands include standing, stooping, and exposure to noise, hair, and wet areas. Reasonable accommodations available.
