Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Calgary, Alberta store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while caring for live animals and maintaining a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and pathways to leadership in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), administer vet-directed meds, and respond to health issues.
- Execute merchandising tasks: face/fill products, stage new inventory, handle price changes, and uphold cleanliness/safety standards.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Collaborate across store areas, including services, while following all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive in fast-paced settings, handle pressure calmly, and are available evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
