Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Calgary, Alberta store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live animals, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, development, and the joy of working with pets daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising tasks: stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and recover sales floor.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stand/walk extensively, and handle animals in a dynamic retail setting with moderate noise and pet hair.
