Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Canoga Park, CA, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe store. This entry-level role offers flexibility, impact, and rewards for animal lovers ready to thrive in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, questions, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: facing products, recovery, pricing updates, and sales floor planning.
- Promote sales, services, events like adoptions, and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety by monitoring pets, responding to illnesses, and maintaining cleanliness amid pet hair and moderate noise.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Bring strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50lbs+, standing, climbing). Comfort with live animals and wet environments a plus.
