Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Chatham, Ontario, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver positive experiences, and uphold our vision. Share responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care. Work flexibly across sales floor, services, and pet care areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent experience in-person, phone, register, and online; greet and answer questions.
- Prepare online orders and ensure smooth pick-up.
- Provide pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish); administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain cleanliness, handle price changes, stock products per planners, face/fill/recover merchandise.
- Recommend/sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats.
- Ensure safe environment; respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role requiring strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physical demands: stand/walk/climb, lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments. Passion for pets preferred.
