Role Overview
Our full-time Pet Associates drive positive pet parent experiences in Citrus Heights, CA. You'll handle sales, pet care, store maintenance, and safety, working evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding service in-person, phone, register, and online; prepare pick-up orders.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes and merchandising.
- Sell merchandise/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick pets and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role welcoming pet lovers. Need strong communication, flexibility, composure under pressure. Physical demands: lift 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate noise/wet/hairy conditions. Ladder climbing, stooping required; reasonable accommodations available.
