Role Overview
As a Full-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Cobourg store, you'll deliver outstanding customer experiences, care for live pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, sales opportunities, and support across store operations, perfect for animal lovers seeking flexible, full-time work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent service in-person, phone, register, and online order fulfillment.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, pricing updates, and product recovery.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to pet health issues immediately.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
