Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Colorado Springs, CO, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility, impact, and the joy of working with animals daily in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions, including seamless online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Ensure store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock merchandise per sales floor plans, and recover products.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets by transporting to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Vision for depth perception and team lifting for heavier items required.
