Role Overview
Our full-time Pet Associates drive the pet parent experience in our Columbia, SC store. You'll engage customers, care for live pets, maintain a clean store, and sell merchandise— all while upholding our commitment to pet safety and customer satisfaction. This entry-level role offers flexibility and impact every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding service in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals including feeding, cleaning, and vet transport.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle pricing updates, and promote events like adoptions.
- Recommend products/services and ensure a safe environment for pets, associates, and customers.
- Assist across store areas including services as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive in fast-paced settings, handle pressure calmly, and are available evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
