Role Overview

The Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) is the heart of our store, delivering outstanding pet parent experiences while ensuring pet safety and store excellence. This full-time position in Columbus, Ohio, involves customer engagement, pet care, merchandising, and operational support in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service to pet parents in-person, phone, register, and online order fulfillment.
• Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor to standards.
• Recommend products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets with immediate action including vet transport.

Experience & Skills

Entry-level friendly with no prior experience required. Ideal candidates have strong communication skills, schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair exposure.
