Role Overview
The Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) is the heart of our store, delivering outstanding pet parent experiences while ensuring pet safety and store excellence. This full-time role involves customer engagement, pet care, merchandising, and operational support in a fast-paced retail setting with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order fulfillment, and register service.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, habitat cleaning (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Maintain pristine store standards: facing products, recovery, price changes, and new merchandise staging.
- Sell products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety by monitoring pets, transporting sick animals to vets, and upholding cleanliness.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level friendly with no prior experience required. Ideal candidates have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, ladder use). Pet enthusiasts thrive here amid moderate noise, pet hair, and animal handling.
