Role Overview

As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Countryside, Illinois, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, customer service, and merchandising in a dynamic retail setting focused on pet happiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
• Provide daily care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
• Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and maintain total store cleanliness and safety standards.
• Recommend merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Respond to pet health issues, transport to vet if needed, and assist across all store areas including services.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Vision for depth perception and team lifting for heavier items required.
