Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Courtenay, British Columbia, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, pet interaction, and career pathing in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets while assisting across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
