Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, upholds store standards, and provides direct pet care. This entry-level role in a dynamic retail environment involves customer engagement, merchandising, and animal welfare in Culver City, California.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Maintain pet health by feeding, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed meds.
- Ensure store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Prioritize safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to pet health issues immediately.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Vision for depth perception needed.
