Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while caring for store pets and maintaining a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and pathways to career advancement in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats—including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: facing/filling products, staging new inventory, weekly price changes, and promotional setups.
- Promote events like adoption weekends, Treats enrollment, and charity drives while recommending products/services.
- Maintain safety standards, respond to pet health issues, and support all store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
