Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding customer service, cares for store pets, and maintains a clean, safe store. Based in Davenport, Florida, this entry-level role offers flexible scheduling and hands-on pet interaction in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Provide daily care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and immediate response to pet health issues.
- Assist across departments including services as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Depth perception and team-lifting for 100+ lbs also essential.
