Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Decatur, Alabama, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver positive experiences, and uphold our vision. Share in store maintenance, pet safety, and direct pet care while working flexibly across evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stoop, kneel, and handle animals in a moderate-noise environment with pet hair and occasional wet conditions. Depth perception required; accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock, face, fill products; manage price changes and merchandising per sales floor plans.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety; respond to sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role welcoming pet lovers. Need strong communication, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility. Pet care enthusiasm a plus—no prior experience required, but passion for pets essential.
