Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in DeLand Florida you'll engage pet parents provide top-tier pet care and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in pet retail with responsibilities spanning customer service merchandising and live animal care in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive positive pet parent interactions handling in-person phone register and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed water clean habitats (fish birds reptiles small animals) and administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising tasks: face fill recover products stage new arrivals and support price changes.
- Promote sales events adoptions Treats enrollment and charity drives while ensuring safety for associates pets and customers.
- Respond swiftly to pet health issues transport to vet as needed and assist across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required but pet enthusiasts thrive here. You need strong communication flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays composure under pressure and physical stamina to lift 50lbs+ climb ladders and work amid pet hair/noise. Specific vision for depth perception and comfort handling live animals essential.
