PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, upholds store standards, and provides direct pet care. This entry-level role in our vibrant Denton store involves customer engagement, merchandising, and ensuring pet safety in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick pets and assist across departments.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Depth perception and animal handling comfort essential.
