Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, upholds store standards, and provides direct pet care. This entry-level role in our vibrant Douglasville store involves customer engagement, merchandising, and ensuring pet safety in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions including order pickups.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor to standards.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while recommending products and promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick pets and assist across store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stand/walk extensively, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Depth perception and reasonable accommodations available.
