Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate in our Edmonton, Alberta store, you'll be the friendly face for pet parents, delivering outstanding service while caring for our live pets. This entry-level role combines customer engagement, sales, merchandising, and pet care in a dynamic retail setting. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions, including seamless online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain pristine store standards: recovery, facing, filling products, staging new merchandise, and executing price changes.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, handle physical demands (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing), and embrace a fast-paced environment with live animals and moderate noise.
