Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Edmonton, Alberta store, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet experience, and pathways to career advancement in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stage merchandise, and recover sales floor.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, handle physical demands (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing), and are flexible with evenings/weekends/holidays. Comfort with live animals, moderate noise, and wet/hairy environments a plus. Reasonable accommodations available.
