Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Elkhart, IN, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live pets, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and prepare online orders for seamless pickup.
- Promote merchandise, services, live pets, and events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and tolerance for moderate noise/pet hair essential.
