Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Fairlawn, Ohio, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver outstanding service, maintain store standards, and care for live animals. This entry-level role offers flexibility, impact, and daily joy in a pet-loving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction via in-person, phone, register, and online interactions; prepare pickup orders seamlessly.
- Provide hands-on pet care: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes/promotions, maintain cleanliness.
- Sell merchandise/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physically demanding: lift 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), stand/walk/climb, handle animals in moderate noise/wet/hairy conditions. Depth perception essential.
