Role Overview

As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Gaithersburg, Maryland, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver positive experiences, and uphold our vision of pet safety and store excellence. Share in maintaining cleanliness, pet care, and sales while working flexibly across evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
• Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
• Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Maintain safety standards, respond to sick pets by transporting to vets, and support all store areas.
• Recommend merchandise, services, and live pets to boost sales and loyalty.

Experience & Skills

Entry-level role welcoming pet lovers with strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing). No prior experience required—passion for pets and flexibility are key. Exposure to animals, moderate noise, and wet environments is common.
